Cowcare Footbath is made of plastic and has a capacity of 200 liters. It can be connected both lengthwise and sideways, giving it more flexibility in use. This, depending on the space available on the farm, the CowCare Footbath can be individually set up. The ideal footbath for your cows or cattle.
A footbath is one of the most important tools used on farms to prevent lameness and maintain hoof health. When used properly and paired with a disinfectant for example BATH&CARE offered by CowCare, a footbath can prevent and control various bacterial infectious diseases on dairy farms.
We at CowCare advise a footbath with a length of at least 3 meters. With the CowCare Footbath it is possible to make one large foot bath with a length of 4 meters.
Multiple seperated foot baths are also an option. Consecutive baths are more hygienic: the first bath serves as a cleaning place to get rid of dirt and manure from the claws. The second bath, thus remains free of dirt for longer, the disinfection solution remains usable for a longer time. Disinfectant solution, kills or inhibits bacterial infections such as hairy-warts, foot-rot and heel erosion – penetrates up between toes and cracks, and then penetrates under the horn lining and inner surfaces of each cleat.
Thick-walled, seamless, single-piece unit is an extra-strong and leak proof. The cows will go through the CowCare Footbath more calmly, which promotes longer contact, achieving a better result. The shape and height of the profile ensure that the cow’s hoof is slightly spread, allowing to hoofbath reach areas between claws, where it will be most effective, more easily.
Use of two CowCare footbaths is recommended by most vets, the first for a water rinse and the second for disinfectant solution. The separate water rinse keeps disinfectant solution cleaner for longer.
